Kora

The weather here in Bergen is wild these days. Christmas day was a little wet, cold and very slippery. The morning of the 27th I had a driving lesson and came out to freezing weather, snowing like crazy, and everything was white. Yesterday and today, however, have been really rainy and stormy. I don't know what to make of it all!

cooold!
Two or three days ago I received my Kora Organics package that I had gotten from my dad as a Christmas present. In case you didn't know, Kora Organics is Miranda Kerr's skin care line. I got cleanser, toner and moisturizer for my face and there was an offer where you got a lipbalm for free with that package for a limited time, so I also got that. I chose normal to dry skin type because we all know what the dry winter weather can do to our poor skin so I thought I little extra moisture could be helpful. And may I say I don't think my skin has ever been this moist before! I really love it. The express delivery took only 5 days all the way from Australia, I was very impressed. It is also all organic which is amazing. Often I see that organic stuff comes in packages that are brown, green and dark colours like that and I always find that to look boring, but this has a fresh and "clean" colour that I love. It's not tested on animals which I couldn't be happier about and it smells really good. It's clearly well thought out, for example I saw that the normal to sensitive skin care package had lavender scents which is known to calm you down. I can imagine it's great for redness and irritated skin. I have a cream cleanser, but the package for oily skin had a foam cleanser and things like that, it's clearly well done.

Each product has a positive word written on it. The reason for this is that Dr. Masaru Emoto did research on water molecules and how they reacted to different words, music, thoughts and energy. When it was exposed to positive words, music and even thoughts they turned out looking like a beautiful snowflake. When they were exposed to negativity it turned out looking eroded and bad. The reaction was almost immediate. This is interesting as we are all made of 70% water, no? That's the reason Miranda decided to put the words on the products, to bring positive energy into it.

I finished Miranda Kerr's book yesterday too called Treasure Yourself. It's really great, I'd recommend it to anybody. The first half is about life lessons and her stories, in the end of every chapter there are questions for you about the subject to make you think and maybe change your way of thinking. In the middle there is a bunch of photos like her first cover, first boyfriend, dog, family and so on. The second half of the book is positive affirmations and comments about them from Miranda.

Today I have literally been in my night gown all day. It's been so nice and relaxing. I also made a tuna pie! My first pie, I'm very proud. It was actually delicious. I put cheese on top, but inside there is tuna, spinach, onion, eggs and so on. It turned out perfectly.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get pancakes served by my mum. She always makes amazing food. I'm really excited for tomorrow too. I'm going to Karoline's new apartment, I'm seeing it for the first time which is really exciting. Most of my best friends are going to be there so I'm counting on the night to be spectacular. I have a bottle of wine ready (for once, I always forget to buy before a party) and I have my outfit planned. I hope there is lots and lots of fireworks, that's one of my favorite things ever.

2012 have been quite a journey in many ways. Thanks to everybody who's made it amazing. Especially Ken of course. We have more and more fun together every day. I'm so excited for 2013!! Happy new year:D

Good times

Yesterday I went to a party, or gathering (I don't know what to call it) with everyone who used to ride at my old riding school. It was called Roligheten Ridesenter. At some point it had to be shut down. Almost all the same people who were there at the time, and mostly the same horses, started a new riding school called Epona rideklubb. It was at first located in one of the two stables Roligheten used to have, but later moved to a better location. Those two riding schools were pretty much the biggest part of my life for a very long time. I started riding at Roligheten when I was six, as I got older I was there more and more. It was not until Epona came together I started working there properly. The friends I made there are the ones I still consider closest even though I haven't worked there for years. They are the ones I think it's worth running the extra mile for and imagine staying friends with until I'm old. I always feel really fortunate that I got to have such a wonderful experience being part of something great.

As you can imagine it was really exciting to be invited to an event who gathered all the people (who were able to come) that used to ride at Roligheten. Stories from Roligheten are always the best and funniest, even the ones from before I started riding there. Some of the horses are basically legends, haha! New stories about them just keeps coming, everybody has one.

Me working there ended quite suddenly after a small accident where I slipped on the ice, a horse fell on top of me and it broke my leg pretty badly. I needed surgery and it took a while to heal, by the time I was well again I had decided to move to Spain to go to school. I have been abroad for quite a while so I'm always extra excited to see every body. That must be the shortest version of that story ever told. The amount of good times had in that stable are countless.

I decided to show some photos from last nights gathering.

lols!

Name tag time!

As there were several generations of "stable girls" we all had name tags with the horses we used to ride. I of course didn't know my name had to be on it too so I wrote it upside down not managing to fit in my full name, haha! So typical me!

It was a lot of fun, it's was great seeing so many people I haven't seen in forever!

I unfortunately don't have that many photos from Roligheten and Epona, but I'll share some I have:)

Makrell, the stable cat! I don't think anyone knows how old he actually is, he's just always been there

Felicia and the two goats we had for a few weeks

The goats would run after us, so fun!

Not so glamorous in the cold weather!

Christmas time

The 23rd of December was my mums birthday so Ken and I spent the day at hers. We ate a nice beef dinner and found lots of christmas decoration, even some stuff I made myself when I was younger. We decorated the tree and gave her presents. We had a nice time. The day before we had done a huge shopping spree and gotten her first wifi router. She is somewhat old-fashioned, but that's ok. Ken is very happy anyway. He's become obsessed with the game Minecraft and are playing in several different ways and is watching a small show about it. He's going to make his own tutorials very soon so if you're into that keep your eyes open for videos. He already has some on his channel, you can find it here

Decorating the tree

This one I made!

This one too

And this one

This one was from my best friend in primary school, Torill:)
In Norway we celebrate Christmas the 24th. We usually have a gift in the morning, either the last gift in the advent calendar or something in the socks we hang up. Then we're usually with our family and have dinner. People have different dinner traditions during the holidays. For example: my grandma makes reindeer steak every year. I think most people have lamb ribs which is made a certain way so that it is really salty. We also have a certain type of sausage, potatoes and mashed rutabaga. That's what we had this year. Then the tradition is often rice cream for dessert. We had pears and ice cream instead. Canned pears is one of my favorite desserts ever so I was very happy. Then we sing christmas carols and walk around the christmas tree while holding hands. After all that we get presents, sometimes we open them one by one and sometimes we all just open them all together and it becomes a big mess of wrapping paper. Then we drink, eat candy, enjoy our presents and message or ring to thank whoever gave us presents.

That's pretty much what we did, Ken and I spent Christmas with my mum. It was really nice, I got the best presents. From Ken I got this:

The book is by Miranda Kerr, for those of you who don't know who she is she's a supermodel working as a Victoria's Secret angel among other huge things. This year alone in Paris fashion week she walked the runway for Dior, Lanvin, Chanel, John Galliano, Stella McCartney, Victor & Rolf and Loewe. She's huge and lately I've started taking a big interest in her and I like what she stands for so when I saw she had a book I had to get it. That was a really thoughtful present, my dad got me products from her skincare line too, I'm very excited. The glasses are perfect, like you saw in a previous blog I got to try them on already, but I had to wait to fully get them because they were a Christmas gift. The doll is amazing, it's a special edition Audrey Hepburn doll dressed in the outfit from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's when she is with the brazilian guy and gets the letter saying Fred is dead and there is this beautiful shot of her lying in bed covering her face with her hands crying while all the feathers in the pillows she broke in ager are all around her. I get excited just writing about it, anyway I didn't even know I wanted a doll like this, but it's perfect and I adore it!

It looks so much like her, it's almost weird!

The outfit and the brazilian guy
I found the shot I was talking about:)
From my mum I got this:

Which was also really thoughtful, I've wanted a mixer for so long, I always have to do it by hand. It's painful, takes forever and makes me grumpy so I'm so happy I don't have to do that anymore! Moomin must be my favorite cartoon character ever and I got a tag with him on it to put on my suitcase, so handy! I can't wait to travel again so I can use it. I was really happy about getting a book as well. Up until now I've been reading my dad's books. There is nothing wrong with that, he's got a small library here, but I can't wait to read my own. She got me a Nemi calendar as well which I'm always pleased about, she must be my favorite comic book character next to Emma Frost, she rocks too. Harley Quinn as well, maybe.. Anyway, Nemi exists in English too, but for some reason it's never as good as it is in Norwegian.

The Christmas tree!

Helloooo
It was a nice Christmas, I had a good time. Today or probably yesterday, it's quite late, I was a few hours at my mum's again watching TV and ate some more. Right now I'm just at home with my man watching some Desperate Housewives and just generally enjoying ourselves.

Cosy:)
I hope all of you had or are having a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate. I hope you're having a great time regardless of traditions, religion and all that other stuff.

Lots of love, especially to those who aren't as fortunate as me and find Christmas time difficult.

I'll leave you with the cutest little Santa ever. XOXO
