Christmas time

The 23rd of December was my mums birthday so Ken and I spent the day at hers. We ate a nice beef dinner and found lots of christmas decoration, even some stuff I made myself when I was younger. We decorated the tree and gave her presents. We had a nice time. The day before we had done a huge shopping spree and gotten her first wifi router. She is somewhat old-fashioned, but that's ok. Ken is very happy anyway. He's become obsessed with the game Minecraft and are playing in several different ways and is watching a small show about it. He's going to make his own tutorials very soon so if you're into that keep your eyes open for videos. He already has some on his channel, you can find it here

Decorating the tree

This one I made!

This one too

And this one

This one was from my best friend in primary school, Torill:)
In Norway we celebrate Christmas the 24th. We usually have a gift in the morning, either the last gift in the advent calendar or something in the socks we hang up. Then we're usually with our family and have dinner. People have different dinner traditions during the holidays. For example: my grandma makes reindeer steak every year. I think most people have lamb ribs which is made a certain way so that it is really salty. We also have a certain type of sausage, potatoes and mashed rutabaga. That's what we had this year. Then the tradition is often rice cream for dessert. We had pears and ice cream instead. Canned pears is one of my favorite desserts ever so I was very happy. Then we sing christmas carols and walk around the christmas tree while holding hands. After all that we get presents, sometimes we open them one by one and sometimes we all just open them all together and it becomes a big mess of wrapping paper. Then we drink, eat candy, enjoy our presents and message or ring to thank whoever gave us presents.

That's pretty much what we did, Ken and I spent Christmas with my mum. It was really nice, I got the best presents. From Ken I got this:

The book is by Miranda Kerr, for those of you who don't know who she is she's a supermodel working as a Victoria's Secret angel among other huge things. This year alone in Paris fashion week she walked the runway for Dior, Lanvin, Chanel, John Galliano, Stella McCartney, Victor & Rolf and Loewe. She's huge and lately I've started taking a big interest in her and I like what she stands for so when I saw she had a book I had to get it. That was a really thoughtful present, my dad got me products from her skincare line too, I'm very excited. The glasses are perfect, like you saw in a previous blog I got to try them on already, but I had to wait to fully get them because they were a Christmas gift. The doll is amazing, it's a special edition Audrey Hepburn doll dressed in the outfit from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's when she is with the brazilian guy and gets the letter saying Fred is dead and there is this beautiful shot of her lying in bed covering her face with her hands crying while all the feathers in the pillows she broke in ager are all around her. I get excited just writing about it, anyway I didn't even know I wanted a doll like this, but it's perfect and I adore it!

It looks so much like her, it's almost weird!

The outfit and the brazilian guy
I found the shot I was talking about:)
From my mum I got this:

Which was also really thoughtful, I've wanted a mixer for so long, I always have to do it by hand. It's painful, takes forever and makes me grumpy so I'm so happy I don't have to do that anymore! Moomin must be my favorite cartoon character ever and I got a tag with him on it to put on my suitcase, so handy! I can't wait to travel again so I can use it. I was really happy about getting a book as well. Up until now I've been reading my dad's books. There is nothing wrong with that, he's got a small library here, but I can't wait to read my own. She got me a Nemi calendar as well which I'm always pleased about, she must be my favorite comic book character next to Emma Frost, she rocks too. Harley Quinn as well, maybe.. Anyway, Nemi exists in English too, but for some reason it's never as good as it is in Norwegian.

The Christmas tree!

Helloooo
It was a nice Christmas, I had a good time. Today or probably yesterday, it's quite late, I was a few hours at my mum's again watching TV and ate some more. Right now I'm just at home with my man watching some Desperate Housewives and just generally enjoying ourselves.

Cosy:)
I hope all of you had or are having a wonderful Christmas or whatever you celebrate. I hope you're having a great time regardless of traditions, religion and all that other stuff.

Lots of love, especially to those who aren't as fortunate as me and find Christmas time difficult.

I'll leave you with the cutest little Santa ever. XOXO

Christmas stuff and stuff

All the packages are done! It was fun decorating, they all look so different. I always have a few extra to get done because my grandma's birthday is today, 22nd, and my mum's is tomorrow, 23rd. I like finding things for other people so I thought it was fun picking them out. The shopping is so stressful these days though, Bergen is packed with people in a rush to get presents and their christmas food. Like my mum, she had like 12 really heavy bags of foods for the next hundred years, I just helped her out just carrying stuff. I have no idea how she would've done it on her own!

We've done our grocery shopping too and gotten new toothbrushes. You may not think it's mentionable, but I think it's great, haha! New toothbrushes and new sock are always exciting and fun to use for the first time.

I bought this package on offer and thought it was a great deal, just got it in the mail today and the protein bars and powder were good so in case you like some you can find it here:)
Pretty and colourful and everything

I was just posing with the food and realized I looked all creepy with the knife, haha!

I cooked a small pre christmas meal for Ken, my dad and I because my dad is leaving tonight to go across the country to his side of the family while I stay in Bergen. It was nice!

That's about it!

Lots of love:) xoxo

Best Girlfriends

Ken's photo

Ken's photo
Bergen is really beautiful these days as you can see in the photos above. The last few days I've been christmas shopping and enjoying Bergen and all the christmas lights. It's been really nice. My dad was just in Edinburgh and gave me an early present, chocolate and a mini champaign, haha!

Above you can see some stuff I got at Ikea. The rose and big heart pillow is from Ken just purely because he's great and I'm a spoiled girlfriend. I've gone there a few times now to get my mum sorted in her new apartment.

A good while ago I sprained my ankle and in the x-ray they took they found that something had been wrong with my ankle for a really long time and told me to get an MRI scan as soon as possible. Now, one year later I've finally gone in for the MRI and a new x-ray. It's so nice to have it done, though I'm nervous about what they want to do to fix it. I hope I don't need an operation. The MRI machine was terrifying! It sounded like the apocalypse and I was sure I was going to die any minute, but thankfully I survived. Sometimes if I'm nervous I laugh so when they were putting me into the machine I was like "hahaha oh my god hahaha oh my god", the doctor must have thought I was some sort of freak, haha! I have already had an operation in my other leg almost three years ago after an accident when I fell with a horse and it landed on top of me. So, I have now metal nails in my knee and ankle after that operation. It's still sore at times so I'm praying I don't need another operation. I'm thankfully soon going to take those nails out, I hope that will make things better.

I took Ken to my favorite pizza place, Dolly Dimples, the other day. It was really nice as always, a little busy, but the nice food makes up for it. For the non norwegian people, it's like Domino's just ten million times better.

I'm sorry about the bad quality of some photos. I think it's so quick and easy to use the front camera of my iPhone, but it makes for low quality photos, I'll try to be better at bringing my proper camera.

Earlier this evening I was out for dinner, or "julebord", with my girlfriends, it was so much fun as always. It was like a mini christmas for Rakel as well because she is going to Egypt for a week. She ate traditional christmas foods and got a few gifts. It's just never boring to be with those girls, but I don't see them as often as I would like. It was really nice. Helene just got engaged as well so I was really, really excited to hear all the details! Congratulations to her and André.

Madeleine is a blogger as well, you can find her here:)

My pearl sunglasses came in the post today, so exciting. I'm all ready for summer and sunny weather now. They're too cool!

Let's not nervous about the doomsday, let's just be excited and sexy (Stephen Hampton quote).

Pretty

So like I mentioned I was gonna do in my last blog, I made cupcakes Thursday afternoon. I was gonna make 8 almond cupcakes and 8 vanilla ones. The first 8 looked funny and I realized I had forgotten sugar, the next 8 went fine, but the frosting didn't stay in the bag I was gonna put it on with so it turned out to be a big, big mess and I ended up putting the frosting on with a spoon, they looked.. Charming. I had decided to make another 8 vanilla ones since the first ones didn't really turn out being cupcakes at all and they were perfect, yay!! So tasty, I ate way too many of course.

The ones to the left are the ones without sugar

Spoon frosting.. Big mess!!

And perfect!
To my pleasure I woke up to snow yesterday, proper snow that stuck this time. Not like last time when it was snowing a lot, but there were no snow on the ground. I had to get out and enjoy it of course so I walked in to town and met Ken when he was finished working. The shops had started decorating for christmas and there were lights everywhere. It was really pretty!

Everything was all white like this.

Pretty

Super pretty!
Today we went for a nice walk and enjoyed the snow and snowball fighting, haha!

Everything was so beautiful, but we saw a bag in the water and decided to get it out of there

Ken being an everyday hero, haha

Happy to be home and warm
Later we're going for dinner at my mum's, that's always nice. Stay warm and cosy <3
